Let’s get something straight.
Journaling is not a play-by-play. It’s not:
"So I woke up at 7 this morning and ate pancakes. I was out the door by 9 which was kinda funny cause that meant I got to work at 9:15 oops. And then at work…"
If you can somehow hear me drooling across the nether space, I’m sorry. But I can’t help it. It pains me too much to read your calendar. Do you know anyone who enjoys reading schedules, calendars, itineraries? I didn’t think so.
In all seriousness, the reason I know that play-by-play journaling doesn’t work is because I’ve been there. I have been journaling for over 10 years and have over 20 filled journals at home, along with a 14,000+ word document with all my virtual journals.
And if you read my first stuff? Yeah, it sounds like I’m checking off a list. It’s terrible. I can’t read it. Who does that benefit? Not me then. Not me now.
But as I wrote more, my writing began to change. It became more transformation-focused, and less task-focused. And as my writing changed, I changed.
That’s my hope for you. I want you to unlock clarity, peace, learning, and transformation through journaling. It’s possible. I’ve done it. You can do it.
And it takes just 5–10 minutes a day.
So stick with me. Believe in the program. Actually do the program. And you will see major changes in your life.
They will not be random. They will be intentional. That’s the heart of journaling: intentionality.
It’s becoming an agent to yourself. It’s about taking hold of your story and not letting your circumstances, or random chance, or your environment write it for you.
It’s time to write your story.
